Michael Evan Brown, 73, of Burdett, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at home surrounded by loving family and friends after a long illness. He has gone to be with his Lord and Savior. Mike was born on October 1, 1945 at Shepard Niles Hospital in Montour Falls.
Michael attended Odessa-Montour Central School and transported propane for Griffith Energy. He served honorably with the US Army from 1966-1968. He was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Michael was a fun loving person who loved tinkering in the garage, chasing the sun and listening to music while drinking beer with friends and family. He spent many hours boating on Seneca Lake. He will be forever missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Gina (Scuteri) Brown; son, Aaron Michael Brown (Sarah Randall); daughters, Carie Lyn Buisch (Scott Cleveland), Brooke Tiffany Brown, Harley Jean Brown, and Abelgayle Parker; sisters, Peg Kay States (Claire Gunning) and Susan Jelliff (Ron); grandchildren, Joe Brown, Sheode Brown, Courtney Brown, Titus Buisch and Taryn Buisch; and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold Evan Brown and Frances Sarah (Ward) Brown.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis St., Elmira. A celebration of Michael's life will follow at 4:00 pm at the Burdett Fire Department.
